Chip GeorgeFederal News Radio and NetApp have teamed up to answer the many questions that federal IT professionals have about the cloud.  Because moving to the cloud is no small task, it’s vital to ask service providers several questions to make sure that your agency is getting the solution that will meet your needs not just today, but for years to come.  So, as you prepare to ask your questions – about data, infrastructure, service level agreements, and contracts, we thought we’d have one of NetApp’s cloud experts answer a question we often hear.

Today’s question is answered by Chip George at NetApp.

Q: How do you determine what stays and what goes to the cloud?

A: Security is the driving factor in making the decision of what to keep on premise or off. You need to maintain control over your organization’s data, but you also need innovative ways to speed responsiveness.

Consider retaining full control of your data by storing it on a system you own and control. Then get compute from the cloud for uses such as long-term retention and archiving, backups, and test and development. With this hybrid model, you can manage your data seamlessly– and always make the best decisions for you and your organization.

As part of the Data Driven Cloud Series on Federal News Radio, 1500 AM, NetApp experts will answer your cloud questions on-air and online to help you manage your cloud your way!
