Each week on GovDataDownload, we have the opportunity to highlight success stories across the public sector – from the ways in which technology enables more efficient services throughout all levels of the government, to insights from some of our greatest subject matter experts (SMEs), and partners – there is so much we have to be thankful for. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we thought the timing couldn’t be better to reflect on the people, partners and organizations that we cover on GovDataDownload on a weekly basis. Here are just a few:
This year, we had the opportunity to interview so many amazing SMEs who shared their personal stories about life before NetApp and what makes them proud to work for and support the public sector market. We had people like Lisa Shapiro, Business Development Representative, U.S. Public Sector at NetApp, share her fascinating story about how she served in the U.S. Army as an intelligence officer prior to working for NetApp and how the values that were taught in the military around teamwork has helped shape her career. Then we featured Chip George, Senior Director of State and Local Government (SLED) who served in the United States Navy for five years as a nuclear engineer prior to joining NetApp.
This year we also spoke with Dr. Greg Gardner, chief architect for government, defense, and Intel solutions for the U.S. Public Sector who spent 30 years as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army prior to joining NetApp. On a daily basis, Dr. Gardner works with customers and partners in intelligence and the Department of Defense (DoD) as well as overseas organizations like NATO to solve storage and data management based issues. We are thankful for the work that our SMEs do on a daily basis to make the public sector better and more efficient, and for sharing these stories to our readers of GovDataDownload.
Without our partners, we would not be able to share stories about how companies like Splunk address cybersecurity challenges within the public sector through what they call “operational intelligence.” Together, NetApp and Splunk offer CIOs a strategic approach to deal with today’s threats and drive toward a proactive security posture. In addition, we featured content from Merlin who shared insights around cybersecurity within the healthcare industry this year as it relates to electronic health records (EHR’s). We are thankful for the partner community that NetApp has fostered and for the joint solutions we provide within the federal and health IT sectors to better serve the public.
Finally, we are thankful for our readers. Each week we look for the best stories to showcase how data storage, flash technology, cloud, and cybersecurity are enabling more efficient agencies and impacting people’s lives for good. Thank you for your continued readership and engagement. We hope you have a happy, safe, and joyous holiday.
