Sometimes the meaning behind Memorial Day can get lost but for those who have served in the military, or have loved ones who have served, Memorial Day is more than the unofficial start of summer. We’d like to take a moment to remember those who have served and the ultimate sacrifice they have given to ensure the United States of America remains free. These people – the men and women who defend our freedom both at home and overseas deserve recognition, and this month we had the honor of speaking with a number of NetApp employees and military Veterans as we celebrated National Military Appreciation Month. In our interviews, we asked them the question:

How has serving in the armed forces shaped your civilian career?

Here’s what they had to say:

Memorial Day is a holiday in which we remember those who have given their lives for our freedom. We thank those brave men and women who have sacrificed so much so we can enjoy a day off celebrating with friends and family in our free land. To our Vets, we thank you.
